FEATURES: This charming 3 levels, 3 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, 3,858sf, heritage single-family house sits on a huge 9,864sf lot with a long cobblestone driveway at the front beside a huge grassy front lawn, and a hedges-fenced backyard. At the end of the driveway, there is an attached carport with EV charging. Enter the proper foyer, and there is the formal living room to the right with a faux fireplace and the formal dining room to the left with a 5-bulbs chandelier. The updated gourmet kitchen features two rows of white cabinets, slate-style tiled backsplash, stone countertops, a large center island with full-wrap stone counters, stainless steel gas range, large stainless steel fridge and dishwasher. Through the stained wood French doors in the dining room, you enter a study with a gas fireplace and an adjacent huge family room with access to the covered sundeck. The main floor also has a 3 pcs bathroom and a mudroom with a side-by-side laundry set. The 2nd floor is the resting quarter. The huge master bedroom is big enough for multiple bedroom sets, a dormer, work station area, a Juliet balcony, a walk-in closet and lights coming in from three sides. The updated master ensuite has vaulted ceilings, marble-tiled floors, marble-style tiled walls & tub surround and a separate walk-in marble tiled shower stall. Both the 2nd and 3rd bedrooms have vaulted ceilings. There is a huge rec room, an open den with the second gas fireplace, an exercise room, a flex room, and a storage room in the basement (Note: basement ceiling height is around 7').

The history behind this house is interesting and historically significant. According to a photograph posted on Heritage Burnaby's website: "Photograph looking over Deer Lake and snow-covered ground towards the Frederick and Alice Hart mansion known as the Avalon Estate. In the foreground the Hart's cottage is visible; it was built near Deer Lake in 1904 as a summer retreat for the Hart family. Eventually, the family decided to reside at Deer Lake year-round and began building the large estate which is visible in the centre of the photograph. In 1917, Mr. and Mrs. Hart were devastated when their son, Kingsley was killed in World War I and so they sold Avalon to Montague and Ethel Moore. The Moore's continued with improvements to the estate and renamed it Rosedale Gardens. Just to the right of the estate can be seen a home at 5140 Sperling Avenue which later became the Gayton house. To the right of that, what was originally the cottage belonging to Harriet and Maude Woodward is visible. At the time of this photograph, the cottage was being used as the Burnaby Lake United Church."
